Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin today answered questions asked by the readers of The Moldova Suverana newspaper for more than an hour. The head of state put down every name and contact data of people he talked to, and assured that he will make sure that the problems they confront with are solved.
Residents of the Varnita village proved to be the most active interlocutors. They asked the president to check up on the settlement of issues over providing the participants in the 1992 armed conflict with dwelling credits, and opening an authorised dump. They also touched upon the issue of Varnita-situated enterprises registered in Transnistria, which do not pay taxes to the local administration.

A group of Nisporeni and Hincesti residents proposed to restore a strategic railway portion Bucovat-Leuseni-Husi, which would contribute a lot to the economic development of the region and the country as a whole. Voronin said that it could be a historical prospect, as it is very important and strategic. "We have to construct a railway segment parallel to the Ungheni-Chisinau one on the basis of European railway standards," Voronin said.

Asked what national projects could be launched and implemented in the near future, Voronin said that Moldova's main project is the European integration. "We consistently solve the existing problems: construction of gas supply pipelines, supply with drinking water, roads restoration, and all the problems related to the national infrastructure. The infrastructure issue is very important for our country just as the economic production sectors, and agriculture," Voronin said.

The president's interlocutors complained about the local public administration's attitude, about the illegal land alienation and selling, the refusal to authorise minifarms construction, the need to increase special allowances for merited artists, as well as a series of social problems they daily confront with.

The newspaper's readers congratulated President Voronin over the achievements he registered so far, and wished him every success in his further activity. At the end, the editorial staff of the Moldova Suverana gave as a gift to Vladimir Voronin a picture the newspaper's photographer has taken during the visit to Chisinau by Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Aleksii II.
