Russia and Moldova keep discussing Transnistria

RBC, 12.10.2005, Chisinau 16:08:44.Moldova and Russia have no disagreements except for one unsolved problem, Transnistria, President of Moldova Vladimir Voronin said at a meeting with the Russian delegation headed by Yury Zubakov, senior secretary of the Security Council. According to the Moldovan President's press service, the parties discussed issues of bilateral relations and settlement of the Transnistrian question.
Voronin explained to the Russian delegation the recent initiatives of the Moldovan parliament, the law on the status of Transnistria, and government initiatives involving social benefits to Transnistrian residents.
In turn, the Russian delegation seconded further frank discussions of ways to settle the Transnistrian issue, and Zubakov highlighted that Russia was interested in the earliest possible resolution of the conflict.
