Transnistria intends to stiffen control over the quality of Moldovan alcoholic products, Alexander Rosenberg, head of the technical regulation and metrology service of the Transnistrian Economy Ministry, said. According to the source, the service has already taken necessary steps. Rosenberg said that Transnistria, like Russia, was ready to monitor not only the safety of wines imported into it, but also their quality. He said that the task would be a difficult one, as the republic lacked the necessary equipment, but it planned to purchase it. Rosenberg added that Transnistria was preparing a governmental target program for product quality and safety. He believes that Transnistrian people could simply support Russia as its ally by refusing to buy Moldovan wines. The Transnistrian Economy Ministry said that the last lot of Moldovan wine had been imported to Transnistria in the winter. www.rbcnews.com
